This soft and fluffy bread cake is a perfect base for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is light and nutritious at the same time. You don’t need much just some basic ingredients to prepare and let it sour. Due to the tricky twisting, this bread is not just delicious but fancy and at the same time. Try and enjoy!

Ingredients:
  • For the dough:
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 3 tsp. Sugar
  • 0.45 cup Lukewarm milk /fresh milk
  • 1 tsp. Instant or dried yeast
  • 1.7 cup Bread flour/plain flour/all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 2 tbsp. Unsalted butter
  • For the filling:
  • 2 tbsp. Unsalted butter, soften at room temp
  • For the top:
  • Egg wash

Mix dough ingredients together, except the butter, and let the dough sour for about 20 minutes.

Then add the butter and knead it into the dough. Let the dough proofing for about 60 minutes.

Divide the dough into 5 parts and create small balls of them. Let them rest for about 15 minutes.

Roll them out to a size of 18cm. Paste a layer of butter on it and add another layer of the dough, repeat until the dough is finished.

Make four cuts across the layers of the dough. Then cut every cut again to half, but don't cut the dough through.

Put the dough to the outside and then turn it back to the inside and do a twist in the middle of each cut.

Egg wash on the top. Preheat the oven at 340 °F/170 °C bake for 25 minutes. Enjoy!
