Slow Cooker Pork BBQ

BBQ flavors really pair up well with pork. Put all the ingredients in the slow cooker at the same time, and just let it cook; several hours later your job is done. The meat is tender and you have pulled pork sitting in a sweet and tangy, smokey sauce. Try this pulled pork with a bagel bun and my homemade coleslaw.

Ingredients:
  • 4 lb. Pork shoulder
  • Marinade
  • 2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • For The Slow Cooker
  • 1 tsp. Neutral oil
  • Vegetable & Seasoning
  • 1 cup Sweet onion, small dice
  • 3 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon
  • 1 tbsp. Chili powder
  • 2 tsp. Worchestershire
  • 2 sprigs Fresh thyme
  • 1/2 cup Beer

Cut the pork shoulder into tennis-ball sized pieces.

Season with salt and pepper.

Rub oil on the bottom of the slow cooker.

Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker. Combine all other ingredients in a large bowl. Add to slow cooker and turn on high. Cook 4-6 hours until fall-apart tender.

Remve meat from cooker and shred apart with two forks. Return to slow cooker, reduce heat to low and allow to sit until read for use.
