Sichuan Spicy Prawns

An easy shrimp/prawn recipe that is loaded with a spicy Sichuan flavor profile with a tasty sauteed ground pork. This Chinese-style shrimp recipe will keep you drooling and eat more rice as a counterpart.

Ingredients:
  • For the pork
  • 2 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 3 oz. Ground Pork
  • 1 tsp. Shaoxing Wine
  • 1 tsp. Light Soy Sauce
  • For frying
  • 2 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 8 Jumbo Shrimp
  • 6 Slices Ginger
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • 3 Stalks Sichuan Pickled Chillies
  • 3 Stalks Green Onions, Cut Into 1/2 Inch Pieces.
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. Yibin Preserved Mustard Greens
  • 1 tsp. Shaoxing Wine
  • 1 tsp. Light Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Sesame Oil
Directions:

Add half of the oil to a heated skillet over medium heat and saute ground pork until browned.

Pour half of Shaoxing wine and half of the light soy sauce into the sauteed ground pork and mix well.

Remove the sauteed pork and transfer it to a small bowl.

Pour oil into a clean heated skillet over medium heat.

Toss in the prepared shrimp and stir-fry for 3 minutes.

Add the ginger slices, garlic, Sichuan pickled chilies, green onions, yibin preserved mustard greens, and minced pork.

Stir-fry for a couple of minutes until fragrant.

Add the remaining Shaoxing wine, remaining light soy sauce, and sugar; cook for another minute.

Drizzle with sesame oil and serve immediately.
