DIY Dragon’s Beard Candy

Honey skein is a snack made by modifying the snack called Sudang, a Chinese snack. Originally, honey is cooked and then matured, but it’s hard to do at home, so I simply made it with sugar.

  • 7.7 oz. Sugar
  • 5.3 oz. Water
  • 1.2 oz. Syrup
  • 0.17 oz. Vinegar
  • 7.7 oz. Sugar
  • 5.3 oz. Water
  • 1.2 oz. Starch syrup
  • 0.17 oz. Vinegar
Directions:

Prepare two paper cups and coat them thoroughly with cooking oil.

At first, boil sugar and water in the middle stage. If you do not have a thermometer, please run the stopwatch.

All of the sugar melts and boils lightly. Sugar water is boiling increasingly clear and sticky. Now turn off the lights. If the water begins to thicken, please reduce it to weak light.

It takes 15 ~ 16 minutes. Please refer to the difference according to the pot or gas stove specification (the temperature of the thermometer is 270 °F/ 132 °C). Please wait until the bubble sinks.

Pour into half a cup on a coated cup. Please harden in the refrigerator until it cools and softens.

Peanut for topping. (You can also use other toppings such as almonds, walnuts, etc.) Make sure the materials to be used as ingredients are very finely ground.

Let candy hard enough to get your fingers gently. If it is too hard, spread the paper foil on the floor and warm it in the microwave oven for 10 seconds in front and back.

When the thread bundles are thin and the number of threads increases, stop rubbing and stretch them, and pull them with a certain force.

If you cut the honeycomb with scissors, pull the thread together because it is united. Cut out the thread and cut it into one size. Freeze for 30 minutes to 1 hour in the freezer. Enjoy!
