Aromatic Citrus Chai Tea

Ingredients:
  • For Aromatics
  • 1 ea. Orange zest, save rest for juice
  • 1 ea. Lemon zest, save rest for juice
  • 3 tsp. Cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp. Knob of fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp. Cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp. Whole cloves
  • 1 ea. Used vanilla bean, or sub 1 tsp extract
  • 5 cup Water
  • For 1 cup of tea
  • 2 ea. Black tea bag
  • 1/2 ea. Lemon juice
  • 1/2 ea. Orange juice
  • 1 tbsp. Sweetened condensed milk

In a medium saucepan place all aromatic ingredients together. Bring to a simmer over low heat. Additionally, you can place it in a slow cook on the lowest setting. The aromatics can simmer for up to 2 hours, adding additional water as needed.

To make aromatic chai tea, strain a cup of aromatic liquid into a mug. Squeeze as much citrus juice as desired. Steep black tea for 2 minutes and then remove. Add sweetened condensed milk.
