You definitely should try this! SPICY SAUCE BRAISED EGGS

We brought a simple and delicious side dish recipe, boiled eggs in red pepper paste! Eggs are usually boiled down in soy sauce, but this time, I’m going to make them with red pepper paste. It is a quick side dish recipe that takes less time than boiling them in soy sauce. You can enjoy the braised eggs and shishito peppers on top of rice, or mix them together with rice. It is moderately spicy and sweet, so it is a perfect side dish recipe that suits all tastes!

Ingredients:
  • 10 Large Eggs
  • 1/2 Large Onion
  • 12 Large Shishito peppers
  • 1 Large Chives
  • 1 Cup Anchovy broth
  • Sesame oil
  • Sesame seed
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Vinegar
  • Seasonings ingredients:
  • 2 Tbsp Gochujang
  • 1 Tbsp Red pepper powder
  • 2 Tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Corn syrup
  • Pepper
Directions:

Pour enough water to soak the eggs in a pot and boil them for about 15 minutes. Then add the salt, vinegar, and eggs. Soak the boiled eggs in cold water and peel them. (You must use a room temperature egg so that it doesn’t break). (Salt helps the egg peel well and vinegar solidifies the egg when it breaks.)

Mix in the sauce into the bowl.

Peel the onions and slice them into thin pieces, then chop the green onions. Score the shishito peppers in the middle so that they soak up the sauce.

Put anchovy broth in a pot and add the seasoning. When it boils, add onions, peppers, and eggs.

Cook the eggs by pouring soup over them for about 8 minutes until the soup has simmered down.

Plate your eggs with a sprinkle of sesame oil, sesame seeds, and green onions, then enjoy.
