Honey Mustard Fried Fish

If you’re bored of grilled fish fillets, try this easy to make deep fried crispy coated sea bass. It is served with a special honey mustard sauce and mixed greens to bring a burst of flavor.

Ingredients:
  • 5 slices White Bread
  • 0.5 cup Flour
  • 2 medium Egg
  • 1 large Sea Bass Fillet
  • 0.5 tsp. Salt
  • 0.25 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
  • 4 cup Cooking Oil
  • 1 tbsp. Butter
  • 1 tbsp. Shallot
  • 1 medium Garlic Clove
  • 1 tbsp. Honey
  • 1 tbsp. Prepared Yellow Mustard
  • 1 tbsp. Balsamic Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. Cold Water
  • 0.25 tsp. Salt
  • 0.25 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 2 cup Spring Mix
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper

Preheat the oven to 350°F / 180°C.

Cut the crust edges off of the bread and discard. Slice bread into long thin slices, then dice.

Spread bread cubes onto a 15 x 10-inch baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes until toasted.

In medium bowl, add flour, set aside. In another medium bowl, whisk eggs with fork, set aside.

Cut the fish skin off, and cut the fish into the sizes you prefer. Add salt and black pepper on all sides.

Remove bread crumbs from oven when done, place in a large baking dish, set aside with the bowls of flour and egg.

Squeeze lemon juice over the fish. Place the fish into the bowl with flour and coat. Do the same in the bowl with the beaten eggs, and then into the bread crumbs, set fish aside.

In a large and deep skillet, fill it 2/3's the way up with cooking oil, and heat to 150°C / 300°F. (Note: Can add more oil to lower the temperature.) Fry fish on both sides until it turns golden-brown.

Transfer the fish into a baking sheet and then to the oven. Bake for 10 minutes to make the outside crust crispy.

In a small saucepan, add butter and melt on low heat. Mince shallot, add to the pan, and fry until shallot is transparent.

Use a garlic press to press the garlic right into the saucepan. Add honey and mustard, stir well. Add vinegar, cold water, salt and pepper. Let it simmer until there is a thick consistency.

To prepare the serving plates, pour the sauce in two circles on the plate. Add salad mix along one half of the plate over the sauce. Cut fish servings in half and place above salad mix and between sauce. Place garnish around the plates. Enjoy!
