3 SERVING
Ingredients:
  • 900 g chicken wings
  • 3 oz. potato, peeled and cut
  • 1 oz. carrot, peeled and cut
  • 2 slices of ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 oz. red onion
  • 1 tbsp white wine
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 can Coke, or similar cola
  • 1⁄4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee
Directions:
Step 1
Step 1
1
Cut the chicken wings into separate drumsticks and ends if they aren’t already. Combine with pepper in a bowl. Try to use fresh chicken wings. Although frozen wings are what most places use, and they taste pretty good, fresh is best for taste.
Step 2
Step 2
2
In a large pot or skillet over medium-high heat, warm the olive oil. Add ginger, garlic and chicken wings. Next, fry the chicken wings until they are golden brown, somewhat crispy and cooked through. Check one of the wings to ensure that there is clear juice running, not pink.
Step 3
Step 3
3
Add the can of Coke, or similar cola, and stir well to combine, making sure all wings are coated. Add potatoes and carrots and bring to a simmer over medium heat for about 3 minutes.
Step 4
Step 4
4
Add soy sauce and cook for 10 minutes over medium heat.
Step 5
Step 5
5
Add a small amount of instant coffee, and simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat until the sauce is thick. The instant coffee is optional, as it tastes just as good without it.

Step 6
6
Serve immediately.
